Clinical Pharmacy Service ManagerI am the Clinical Pharmacy Service Manager. I oversee the clinical pharmacy team and the service that we provide across the three GP practices that form Winchester City Primary Care Network (‘PCN’). I have worked in primary care (GP practices) for many years prior to my current role, and I also have a background of working in hospitals for 11 years – this included covering healthcare of the elderly, haematology, and respiratory wards, as well as working in clinical trials for 3 years. I am a pharmacist prescriber and have done additional post-graduate training in Medicines Management and the Optimisation of Medicines in Care Homes (as part of a large national project). I love supporting the development of others; in the past I have worked as a tutor for the University of Manchester Centre for Postgraduate Pharmacy Education (CPPE), and I now act as a clinical supervisor and mentor for my current pharmacy team. I also have a background in quality assurance and governance.
What do I enjoy about working at Winchester PCN:
I love working in a friendly and welcoming team that are always happy to help each other. I also love how the wellbeing of our teams is paramount to our senior management team.
Special areas of interest
I really enjoy healthcare of the elderly and working closely with care homes. I love being involved in education and training, and seeing other learn and develop.

Emmanuel Eiji
Lead Clinical PharmacistLead Pharmacist for diabetes and Endocrinology.
My role is split between primary and secondary care.
What do I enjoy about working at Winchester PCN:
Clinical supervision to the pharmacy team and wider PCN MDT
Empowering and supporting people living with diabetes to optimise their care
Leading on the Early Onset Type 2 diabetes programme
Supporting with the split sector trainee pharmacist placement

Diabetes and Endocrinology and training to be a consultant pharmacist in diabetes and endocrinology across primary and secondary care

Loreta Ponomariov
Lead Clinical PharmacistI joined the PCN in May 2020, bringing experience from both community and hospital pharmacy. I’m soon to qualify as a hypertension specialist pharmacist and am eager to continue expanding my knowledge in other cardiovascular areas.
What do I enjoy about working at Winchester PCN:
I feel fortunate to work alongside a fantastic team and to have the support of incredible mentors.
Special areas of interest
I have a special interest in deprescribing in elderly patients and those with frailty, and I’m passionate about making a positive impact on people’s medication management.

Teresa Turley
Lead Clinical PharmacistI am one of the Lead clinical pharmacists in the team and I am an independent prescriber with a special interest in hypertension and cardiovascular disease. I have worked in Winchester PCN since 2021. My day involves completing medication reviews for patients, answering medication related queries, liaising with the local hospital or nursing homes and optimising patient’s antihypertensive treatments for example. I also provide supervision to the pharmacy technicians in the team and support with the training of the trainee pharmacists who work across the PCN and the local hospital. My role also involves working with the practices to further develop the pharmacy service.
What do I enjoy about working at Winchester PCN:
I enjoy the team working environment provided in the PCN. I am always able to check queries with other pharmacists, GPs, nurses and refer to other healthcare professionals where needed. I also enjoy the opportunities for clinical development which are not often available in other industries such as monthly clinical supervision with a designated GP, group education sessions and weekly meetings with the other members of the team where we discuss interesting topics or cases which benefits our learning.
Special areas of interest
My special area of interest is in the management of hypertension and prevention of cardiovascular disease. This was my focus during my prescribing course which I’ve completed this year. I hope to expand this area to include women’s health in the future.

Isha Hundal
Clinical PharmacistI have been qualified as a pharmacist since July 2023. I was previously a trainee pharmacist undertaking a split post between Winchester PCN and Hampshire Hospitals. I also have experience in community pharmacy. I have been fortunate to work as a clinical pharmacist within Winchester PCN since I have been qualified. My role includes dealing with medication related queries for patients, completing medication reviews including structured medication reviews, liaising with different members of the MDT, and carrying out consultations. I will now be undertaking the role as interim lead pharmacist to help further my knowledge and skills.
What do I enjoy about working at Winchester PCN:
There are many reasons I enjoy working for the PCN but the main ones include:
-There is always support available if in doubt. It’s a great learning environment and there are many ways to expand your knowledge. I learn something new every day.
-Helping patients with their medication. As a PCN pharmacist there are many ways in which we can have a positive impact on patient care whether that be spotting drug interactions, deprescribing medication or helping with compliance.
-Great work life balance and the team is always willing to help.
Special areas of interest
I particularly enjoy structured medication reviews in the local nursing homes as my special area of interest is elderly care and deprescribing.

Jason Anakwue
Clinical PharmacistI have worked as a community pharmacist for over 10 years. During that time, I also locumed as a bank pharmacist at HMP Albany, I really enjoyed my experience working at HMP, so I pursued to find a similar Job.
My role in the team is to review patients’ medications and deal with general patient medication queries. We also take part in supervising training of pre-registration pharmacists.
What do I enjoy about working at Winchester PCN
I enjoy the flexibility of the job, you can work autonomously or in a group, there is a range of different
health care professionals you can interact with, within and outside the PCN (Doctors, Advance Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, Hospital Pharmacist, Social Prescribers etc).
There is always someone you can speak to if you need help.
I enjoy that I am increasing my knowledge and that there are options for further study if needed.
Special areas of interest
My special area of interest would be hypertension and asthma/COPD.

Chioma Odukwe
Clinical PharmacistI joined the practice as a Clinical Pharmacist in March 2024. I provide support on medicine related issues as part of the Pharmacy team within the practice. I have seven years of experience of working within community pharmacy in Southampton and Winchester.
What do I enjoy about working at Winchester PCN:
I have enjoyed the complexity of clinical cases I have encountered since joining the team. Helping patients meet their health goals and being able to monitor their progress in their journey has been very rewarding so far. I also enjoy the flexibility that comes with working with the PCN, as I am now able to have a good work-life balance.
Special areas of interest
My special area of interest is in Women’s Health and I hopes to one day be part of the running of a HRT Clinic within the PCN.

Rachael Walters
Pharmacy TechnicianI am a pharmacy technician and I have been working for the PCN since October 2023. My career has been in a variety of roles, covering chemotherapy, clinical trials, medicines management, and before coming to the PCN I was the Lead Technician at HMP Winchester.
Day to day I follow up medicines related tasks from GPs, patient queries that are booked in with me from the care navigator team, and assist with pharmacist clinics
What do I enjoy about working at Winchester PCN:
I am one of the first pharmacy technicians to work here, It has been exciting developing the pharmacy technician role here, and showing the value that we can bring to our PCN colleagues. The department is very supportive, and a great learning environment. I am currently undertaking the Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway to gain the knowledge skills and experience to work across primary care as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Special areas of interest
Due to my work in Detained Estates I have a particular interest in adult safeguarding, and ensuring patients with support needs are able to access their medications safely and with dignity.

Sarah Compton
Pharmacy TechnicianI joined the PCN in October 2024, after working in both community, hospital and dispensing doctor’s surgery. I have just started my clinical course in January of this year and hope to complete this by March 2026. I hope that doing the course will help me to continue expanding my knowledge.
What do I enjoy about working at Winchester PCN:
I like that I have the flexibility that comes with working for the PCN, and this gives me better work / home life balance. I enjoy helping patient’s and making their experience of using the service a good one. I feel very lucky to work alongside a good team and to have the support of my colleagues.
Special areas of interest
I don’t have a special area of interest now as I like to be a good allrounder but would like to, in the future, get more involved in the care home side of the PCN.

Natasha Pink
Care CoordinatorI joined the PCN in 2022 as a receptionist at Enhanced Access, and have now progressed to Pharmacy Care-Coordinator.
What do I enjoy about working at Winchester PCN:
I enjoy working with the PCN because I have a flexible work pattern which allows me to have a good work/life balance. Also I feel supported with potential progression opportunities.

I particularly like working within pharmacy and hope to gain more knowledge as I work with the pharmacy team on a daily basis
